Territories of Gleosil

← Back to Home

Gleosil is a snowy continent that gets little precipitation. The mountains and eastern part of the continent are thought to be inhabitable. Though snowy, the land still has quite a bit of resources in the way of resilient animals and hardy plants, as well as caves that provide metals and stone.

Aelburn Kingdom

Main Religion: Salient Divinism

Aelburn is a Kingdom that encompasses most of the habitable land in Gleosil, near the Alpua Lake, Donvian Forest, and Currant Forest. It is a patriarchal monarchy. Currently the royal family is the Bades. The current King is Theodosius Bade the Third and the Queen is Ethelinde Bade. They have three children. The heir is their second oldest, and the eldest son, Crown Prince Alcetius. The next in line is their second son, Prince Taysius. Their eldest child is their daughter, Princess Amyria. They are in the third generation of this royal family. The kingdom itself is also fairly secluded, with travel still being banned from the Lifelong Conflict. Trading, however, is reopened. Due to this only merchant ships are allowed in the Kingdom's docks.

Aelburn - Capital City

Typical Races Found Here: Humans, Elves (small pop.), Half-Elves (small pop.)

The main city of the same name is known for its strict laws regarding entrance into the city. It is where the royal family resides and is where meetings of the representatives of their territories happen. The city is almost entirely human, save for some elves and half-elves. Other races, while they don’t live in the city, may be allowed to enter if given a proper pass.

Aelburn has a sizable church in the kingdom, close to the castle. Due to the religion that is practiced in Aelburn, the church only has worship places for the acceptable Divine and none for the Champions. The church handles education and welfare for the citizens, meaning that even the lower class citizens get access to a decent education and health services.

This city has an extensive guard, though because of the strict travel restrictions and trade regulations, the guard mainly exists to show off and protect the kingdom from environmental dangers. The guard is responsible for the majority of hunting that happens in Aelburn, which supplies the animal skin and fur needed for the warm apparel worn in Aelburn.

Alawo - Town

Alawo holds the kingdom's docks where most imported and exported goods travel from.

Alpville - Town

Typical Races Found Here: Humans, Elves, Half-Elves

Alpville, named after the Alpua lake and river it resides next to, is the smallest town in Aelburn Kingdom and is Aelburn’s newest town, after Lord Zintric Sira was given land by the King. Formed by a group of humans, this town adapts a lot of the same beliefs as Aelburn. Though no identification is necessary to enter, the lack of acceptance is enough for races outside of humans, elves, and half-elves to stay clear. They have the largest lumber production in the kingdom and will often make tools and crafts out of resources from the Kingdom and also imported metals.

Kresa - City

Typical Races Found Here: Elves, Humans, Half-Elves, Tabaxi

Although it is a city under the Aelburn Kingdom, Kresa has a much more accepting nature. Despite their accepting nature, they are not the most diverse city because of their connection to Aelburn. They consist mostly of Elves, Humans, and Half-Elves, but there is a noticeable population of Tabaxi. They tend to value living on the land rather than using it and have many communities outside their walls that reside in the nearby Currant Forest, but do not have official settlements. They have their own representative council called the Council of Currant that is mainly run by druid elves.

They are run by a Mayor, currently Thran Liora, though there are open meetings for residents. Now, while tensions are still high between Aelburn Kingdom and Coldrest, they have reopened peaceful communication and trade, as the Coldrest mines provide many unique resources, such as metals, stone, and pigment rich fungi. They hope for a reformation of Aelburn’s ideals. They have good relations with Napayshni and a standing trade route thought to be formed by the Champion, Fortune.
