In the never-ending darkness of the void, a singular spark of pure energy and magic burst forth. This spark came to be the Creator of Worlds, a source of pure chaos and power, Kaivara. She came into existence with the ability to shape worlds and give life to the emptiness that surrounded her.
As Kaivara came into existence, she gazed upon the emptiness that surrounded her and felt an overwhelming desire to give purpose to this lifeless void. She yearned for companions, beings of her own creation, who would help her sculpt the formless abyss into something extraordinary.
Concentrating her magical energy, Kaivara was able to give life to five unimaginable beings, who would be considered her "children". These five beings, now known as the Fundamental Firsts, helped to bring structure to the chaos that Kaivara brought into the void and would help her create the realm she desired. These Fundamental Firsts were known as:
Although the Fundamental Firsts are considered to be Kaivara's "children", the relation between these Firsts and Kaivara are considered to be closer, in theory, to a sibling connection..
As eons passed, the Fundamental Firsts discovered a delicate equilibrium among themselves. They learned to harness their individual strengths to help their pursuit of creation and order. With their newfound balance, they turned their attention toward the vast canvas of the void and, together with Kaivara, began to form the world of Kaivem and its many planes.
Kaivara's pure energy served as the catalyst for their great work. With them to help focus her outburst of energy, she brought into existence the Material Plane, the heart of Kaivem, where mortals and countless creatures would dwell. It's echoes, the Feywild and Shadowfell, existing as foils of each other. Surrounding it, the Elemental Planes took shape, realms dominated by the forces of earth, fire, water, and air.
In the Elemental Planes, the Elemental Firsts came into being, tied to the elements they represented. The names of these beings would later serve as the name of Seasons that mortals associated with these elements. Terravani, the First of Earth, would be associated with the beginning season, one that was barren and cold, existence before life. Ignuri, the First of Fire, would be associated with the next season, where warmth breathed the first signs of life into the lands. Etoirir, the First of Water, become synonymous with the third season, where the oceans grew restless and rain is needed the most. Adatorm, the First of Air, was the fourth season, when the chill of the wind marked the end of the year, nearly ready to start anew.
Together, under Kaivara's watchful gaze, the Fundamental Firsts and Elemental Firsts would work in harmony to bring life into Kaivem and it's planes. The world would flourish with life and magic, granting the mortals who lived upon it a beautiful world to explore and settle on.
As the world develops, many theories have began to pop up, especially based around how the planes were run when the world was first made and how they have changed since. A popular theory among scholars is that the Firsts each ruled over the different beginning planes of Kaivem. Despite the growing popularity of this theory in research, many churches disagree with this theory and instead believe that the Fundamental Firsts, together, looked over all of the planes besides the Elemental Planes, which were left to the Elemental Firsts that were formed inside of them.
The Material Plane Thought to be originally ruled by Kalzernath after it was created by all of the Fundamental Firsts and Kaivara combined.
The Feywild and the Shadowfell Thought to be originally ruled by Chuasuya, who is responsible for the stark contrast between the two echoes.
The Elemental Planes This theory follows the churches belief that each Elemental Firsts ruled over the plane that they are associated with.
The Etherial Plane This plane, that binds together the Material and Elemental planes was thought to be watched over by Urbao.
Abyssal Plane This plane is one of the big reasons the church rebukes this theory, since the church teaches that the Abyssal plane is tied to the Infernal Plane and therefore was created at the same time or shortly after. This theory, however, suggests the Abyssal Plane was made at creation and was controlled by Alavire.
The Astral Plane Considered the first plane and the birthplace of Kaivara herself, this plane is thought to be watched by Antenum, who is considered the most powerful First by scholars.
